There are few things as fantastic as the human face, each one unique, yet so easily recognisable on a second viewing. And artists’ portraits have always been more than just a record of a face… The mediums with which portraits have been depicted have also evolved and changed over time, from more traditional techniques such as oil paint, to contemporary ideas of assemblage, sculpture and different collage techniques.
