To celebrate London Design Festival , BigStuffed will be joining us from Paris to transform our windows into an underwater wonderland full of giant stuffed sea creatures hand crafted by Designer Dana Muskat in her studio.

Workshops will be taking place at the shop throughout design week, led by Little Art Forms, Infant Art Club, Corrie Williamson and Young Double. Spaces are limited . See posts below and Design Festival workshop page for more details and bookings

Kids workshop, Under the sea, Mono printing with Infant art club

Saturday 24th September 2pm-4.30pm

Join us for an afternoon of mono printing with Infant art club

Led by designer and educator Jessica Traylen, children will draw sea creatures to make mono prints from, taking inspiration from our under the sea display of giant sea creatures created by Bigstuffed. Finished prints can be taken home on the day or take pride of place in the shop window as part of Bigstuffed’s exhibition!

This is a free drop in workshop , no need to book just come along any time between 2-4pm (Finishes at 4.30pm)

KIDS WORKSHOP, Make a Skeleton Doll with young double

Sunday 25th September 2016
Times: 10:30am, 1pm & 3.30pm

Come and join us for a skeleton doll making workshop based around Young Double’s new Make A Doll kit as part of London Design Festival week. Each child will get their own kit which includes two pre screen printed dolls and backing fabrics, on the day we will make one of the dolls and the other they can take home as a project.

The children will learn basic toy making and sewing skills, with a sewing machine and sewing by hand, above all they will create something themselves they will be able to name and cherish.

The workshop will last about an hour, depending on age and ability. There will be two workshops so please select what time is best for you.

Age 3+ [ however if you feel the child will enjoy this workshop with the help of an adult then please go ahead and book, we’ve had children as young as two take part in our workshops ]

Ability: Beginners

Adults may take part, help, shop, have a coffee on the house.

Adult Weaving workshop With Infant Art Club

Make wall hanging with Infant Art Club as part of our adult workshop for London Design Festival week

Led by designer Jessica Traylen,Infant Art Club, Adults will be given materials to make weaving using thick, unspun and undyed wool roving individually knotted and hand-woven using wool from the Falkland.

All materials are provided.

Create your own hanging sculpture with Jewellery Designer Corrie Williamson

using a collection of sustainable materials. You will balance shapes, textures and colours to create an abstract and geometric patterned sculpture to hang at home. All materials and a glass of wine provided.

KIDS WORKSHOP SKETCHBOOK MARKS & COLLAGE WORKSHOP WITH LITTLE ART FORMS

As part of London Design Festival week Little Art Forms

will be launching their new Sketchbooks for Children, at Molly Meg

Led by artist and art therapist Grace Thompson, children will be given a beautifully designed sketchbook to reshape, using a variety of art materials. They will also learn about the historical and contemporary artists that feature throughout the book.

Through collage and mark making the sketchbooks will take on a new life and be transformed by participants, into unique art objects.

Curated by Grace Thompson, and designed by Illustrator Peter Cline, the Little Art Forms Sketchbook was developed to ignite and encourage creativity and imaginative thinking. Packed full of images that highlight and bring together the work of contemporary and historical artists from around the world, their images act as a springboard for ideas, and will ignite and encourage your childs imaginative thinking.

We are excited to have Roxy Webster, designer behind Young Double and owner of Studio NL, coming down from Leicestershire to hold 2 workshops at the shop.

The workshops will be based around YOUNG DOUBLE’S new MAKE A DOLL KIT. Each child will get their own kit which includes two pre printed dolls and backing fabrics. On the day they will make one of the dolls and the other they can take home as a project.

TOTEM ME WORKSHOP- BUILDING A SELF
WITH LITTLE ART FORMS

Sunday 10TH July 2016, 10AM-11AM
AT Molly Meg, 111 Essex Rd, London, N1 2SL

In this workshop children will be given a selection of hand painted pieces of wood to use to create their very own Totem pole.

Participants will be invited to express something about their clan, tribe, interests or inner feelings through building a Totem pole, using a variety of art materials. The sculpture might represent a story or event, but could just enable children to engage with an enjoyable creative process.

The Totems may become a sacred object or communicate something special about your child’s sense of self and individuality.

All of the finished Totems will meet one another and stand together at the end of the workshop, before their creators take them away to see their new homes..
